Celebrating 30 years of honest Slovak production
The year 2025 was a key milestone for us—ŠKOLEX celebrated its 30th anniversary. Three decades of work, change, investment, pushing our boundaries, and continuous learning. Behind this period stand dozens of people who believe that a high-quality, well-designed environment can improve education. And since such an anniversary deserves a brief look back, let’s recall a few milestones that have shaped us as Školex.
It all began on June 9, 1995, with the production of school and office whiteboards. It was a modest but important start. In 1998, we purchased new technology (a tube and profile bender, an automatic CO2 welder, drills, etc.), which was a truly significant step forward for us at the time, and we embarked on the production of school furniture, which became our specialty for the next three decades. Every year, we expanded both our production and our team, and the number of schools we furnished gradually grew.
In 2003, we expanded beyond Slovakia’s borders and established a subsidiary in the Czech Republic. Just two years later, we entered the Belgian market, where we gradually built a strong reputation among partners in both the Flemish and Walloon regions. Today, we have completed hundreds of projects that have taught us to adapt to the various standards of modern European education.
In 2009, we expanded our production to include office furniture and began working with wood. This was followed by a phase of modernization—our “technological years.” In 2010, we invested in new CNC machines, which streamlined and improved the quality of our furniture production. In 2015, we added a welding robot, and a year later we built a network of sales representatives who have since been traveling to you—to elementary, middle, and high schools throughout Slovakia—to bring Školex even closer to you.
Digitalization arrived in 2021 with the introduction of modern production management software. Thanks to it, our process is faster, more precise, and generally more transparent, which has allowed us to shorten delivery times and keep every step of production under control.
Our Results in Numbers
Over the past three decades, we have completed numerous projects that help schools move forward:
- over 2,000 furnished classrooms in Slovakia
- over 20,000 pieces of metal furniture manufactured annually
(13,200+ chairs, 7,100+ desks, 1,100+ whiteboards and stands, 600+ benches, and 460+ cabinets)
- nearly 40 employees working daily on production, development, and assembly,
- 4 countries (Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Belgium, and Germany) where we operate regularly, and with the ambition to continue growing.
These numbers confirm to us that the path we have chosen makes sense.
Where is Školex today?
After thirty years, we are a stable company with a firm foothold in Slovakia and abroad. We have taken many steps that have moved us forward, and we look forward to the challenges and ideas that lie ahead.
In 2026, great moments await us once again. We’re moving to larger, more modern facilities, designing new types of furniture that meet the standards of modern European schools, and continuing to streamline our production. Plus, we recently purchased a new CNC machine—a laser tube cutter—that will take our production to the next level—and we’ll have plenty to learn again.
